About Kitchen SherersCooking and entertaining has always been a way that I could express my love towards others. Even from a young age, I was drawn to the creativity and excitement of transforming a single ingredient into a multitude of possibilities.
However, as a young child I had several GI issues and was often very sick. I tried everything, cutting dairy, cutting fats, and the list went on. After I had my gallbladder removed in 2006, and I still monitored how I ate. Still not feeling great, my doctor and I agreed to try to remove gluten from my diet. Within a week, I felt like I had never felt before! Despite not being able to eat gluten, my new charge was to ensure that when I feed those around me, they can still eat amazing food, without focusing on a stigma that it is "Gluten-Free". My hope is that you too will enjoy these recipes. I also write them, so that if you do not want to make them gluten-free you don't have too. I also understand that daily struggles of trying to accomplish all of our daily tasks: work, family, friends, exercise, and the list goes on and on. One thing I hope that you will also see is my recipes are geared to allow you to focus on good homemade food, that you can integrate into your busy schedule! Also I am a huge proponent of moderation and celebration, so you will see some lovely recipes on good ol' fashion treats! Thank you for coming on this journey with me. I hope that I can inspire you today to bring your family or friends together to share in food, laughter, and enjoying the simple moments. |
Cooking not only allows my creative outlet to be tapped, but I also appreciate all of the other benefits that come from it. As a young child, I was able to learn fractions and pick up math quite easily. I attribute this to always thinking about how I would either double or half a recipe. I hope to share this passion with my lovely young daughter, and watch her grow and learn, as well as experiment and try new things. Already she has proceeded to teach other children, "you have to at least try it once!" although with fresh Italian Gelato, I do not think that is a difficult task.
